With its lively ‘Golden Mile’ of amusements and seafront entertainment, alongside a strong maritime heritage, Great Yarmouth has lots to offer its visitors. There’s the Time and Tide Museum, telling the story of the town’s rich history; high-octane rides at the Pleasure Beach; captivating shows and circus acts at the Hippodrome; a world in miniature at the Merrivale Model Village; and a seafront and two piers packed with arcades, rides, shops and yummy seaside treats – perfect for a day trip during your family stay at Hemsby Beach Holiday Park. Just eight miles south and 15 minutes’ drive, it’s very conveniently situated, too!
Why not skip the car keys and hop on the Open Top Bus, which conveniently stops right outside the Holiday Park every day throughout Spring and Summer. Enjoy breathtaking views from the top deck, especially during the summer holidays when an evening service runs allowing you to enjoy the famous Great Yarmouth illuminations as the sun sets. The Bus operator offers fantastic value day tickets which allow you to hop on and off as much as you like, and with great savings for families and groups it’s a better option than the car! Great Yarmouth has three sections of beautiful beach that each offer a different experience. The North Beach boasts wildlife-rich sand dunes, leading down to a sandy beach with views of the Scroby Sands Wind Farm. It’s also close to the Venetian Waterways and boating lake, tennis courts and bowling greens. The wide, sandy Central Beach, between the piers, is where all the fun happens, with donkey rides, activities, shops, cafes and deck chairs for hire. Meanwhile, the South Beach is a quieter alternative – yet still close to all the amenities. Dog walking is permitted on the North and South beaches, all year round.
