Go cycling in Norfolk

When visiting us at Hemsby Beach Holiday Park, why not go for a relaxing bike ride around the local area? You can hire bikes in our Hire Shop. From the beautiful Norfolk coast to the Broads National Park and its countryside, there are many stunning sights that you can enjoy on two wheels!

Norfolk is very cycle-friendly, with plenty of routes to explore and easygoing terrain for riding. The Broads by Bike site has a great selection of routes to explore, but perhaps the best in terms of proximity to Hemsby is the Horsey route. A 20-mile round trip, the route passes through plenty of coastal and Broads villages, including Horsey – where you can see the historic Horsey Windpump and Waxham Barn – as well as Potter Heigham, a popular Broads village.

Another Broads by Bike route which is also close to Hemsby is the Hickling route, which is ideal for kids. Much shorter, at 5 ½ miles (taking around an hour to complete), this route takes you past a Norfolk Wildlife Trust nature reserve, the historic Sutton Mill, and  St Mary’s Church, built in the late 14th century.

Wherever you choose to go cycling in Norfolk, you’re sure to come across some amazing sights and hopefully some of the county’s wonderful wildlife! It really is one of the most fun and relaxing ways to explore this unique and beautiful region.
